My Memories Of The Willow Tree.
Willow, willow, wisps of willow
Ever -green you stay
My Childhood memories doth impart images today.
Of wispy willow blowing in the breeze
Pine needles ever- green
Falling from evergreen trees
Of them, I'd pick and wind, and twist to make bangles of evergreen leaves.
Wispy willow of thee I'd dream along the trail to my front door
of hours spent beneath the spindly boughs.
Of Christmas time and pretty bright bulbs
Of the sweet smell of freshness beneath evergreen limbs
The purest of sounds it did make
As the wind swishes and evergreen leaves fall
The dry crackle of those underfoot
The colors green yellow brown
lies brittle beneath the evergreen trees
Where I once sat and read
books of adventure, and sights to behold
And envisioned a Childhood that would never end.
Beneath that everlasting evergreen tree
The wind seemed strongest beneath its limbs
And the blazing sun not as hot
The wispy bough's, a haven create
Though the leaves sparse and not as shady as the old scruffy oak
The evergreen of my memories
Be the first and most beautiful of trees to me
