Memories And Feelings -- A Poem

Updated on September 10, 2012

Caught up in the middle of this Life

Memories come around when we need advice

illusions and views of long gone infatuations

come in hand when we feel down or lack inspiration

at times we feel loaded with resources for our writing

and rarely have trouble when we know where we are heading

Memory is like a book with no tied ends

open it up at the right page and chapter

and read what can cause, tears, joy, or just laughter

Lucky us that experienced the best things in life

Our hearts had pounded with a joy so bright

when our first boy was born on December 31st

twelve noon and one minute when baby boy arrive to Earth

On that morning of December thirteen, a Friday back in 71

we finally learned to do our first division, that was so fun

The smell of a new book still can cause me to just sigh

at times misunderstood when I was reading left and right

Childhood instilled in our own view of life

gave us peace in our own heart, and it can't be denied

the good old days ...upbringing with the sweetest mom

can be blamed for the inspirations that never leave us alone

1972, checking the sky and recognizing that north star

2011, going out at night and still can find it over my house

Memories of past friends embracing after winning a game

slow motion of smiles that echo our own name...

sadness was around, like in any other soul

first girlfriend...well we never reached her goals

Yeah sad to admit, but we had our ups and downs

because we wanted to love like our own moms

March 13, 1982, a Friday like any other day

First time I fired these bullets on a target range

Served my Country and became a man in my own right

drill sargent, would you please hear my plight?

memories that come and go, giving us fun views

of a life that was worth living and set us anew

laughter and tears that mingle as one

passing under that threshold of wisdom

and still being a kid, laughing with no reason

Last baby born on December the seventh

the last gift from God and heavens

doctors telling me to watch my hands

to witness my child coming into this life

So glad to vent these words out

this way you can meet the guy behind Lord

emotions and feelings that cause us to write

vivid shades of past senses that .. will always nurture our life

Yeah, this inspiration came on time and as usual, I never expected to be this deep. Memories and feelings keep a healthy life free of disfunctional egos and negative feelings.

Memories are so precious--ours to keep private or to share---but share only with those who care, like your hub friends--yes, we are near---always together, we can hear---your words so true and warm to touch our hearts--the words land there for a new start--of Memories.

Thanks for sharing such beautiful words,

    Your Hub Friend,
