Metamorphosis, Not an Hypothesis
The metamorphosis of Nature's most beautiful, a butterfly,
This a scientifically orchestrated reincarnation is a miracle.
Their transformation from the egg to pupa, larva to an adult,
That marvel of life, are these monarchs, to be as empirical.
The tiny eggs laid on a green leaf by its mother so carefully,
Where the newly-born larva, now is a caterpillar, soon feeds.
Stages, the five changes, and at last, a pupate is so formed,
Here, a protective sheath surrounds, in filling housing needs.
The wonders of nature are without any to compare, each one,
So majestic, far beyond any adjective's words, any description.
The brilliant one, butterfly so vibrant, its wings now are to form,
Grand colors, all others could appreciate, a finest presentation.
The new birth accentuated with a flapping of wings, now to verify,
That ravishing beauty of all flowerbeds, in now about ready to fly.
The wetness of all newborns now is gone, is well prepared, is dry,
Just as a baby bird perched in a tree, encouraged by mothers, try.
As a breeze, of wind, applies a little push, the babe it frees,
Darts and dives about in the air, flying higher than the trees.
Lights and then to perch on flowers of such brightest colors,
Now from its world of darkness, escapes into the light it sees.
One day soon, the marvelous creature will leave its own eggs,
Choosing broad green leaves, where miracles of life, foresees,
New eggs, after mating, beginning the cycle of life, transcends,
The mother butterfly, with her mate by her side, new life begins.
