Dramatic Poetry: Midnight Snack Research
While in the fridge
looking for a taste
of something fulfilling,
you press against
my bottom and grab
the homemade
chocolate raspberry
mousse
off my top shelf
and pull out
a strange spoon.
You feed me
your sweet
charm and whip
cream lovingly.
Standing up
in the dark, atomic,
run-down kitchen,
we intensely banter
with ambrosial flavors;
Marveling at how the right
combination of quarks and
chemistry can design the
most sensual and euphoric
bite.
Notes:
For those of you that don't know, there are six flavors of quarks: up, down, strange, charm, bottom, and top. I wanted to aim my poem at the more scientifically inclined because my boyfriend is a nerd. Most people that don't know about the science stuff don't notice, but my brother who is a total geek caught it right away. I just want to see what other poets think of it.
