Mindless Wonder

Updated on December 14, 2013

Mindless Wonder

It was underneath those night skies,

you were to follow his finger with your eyes,

that’s what the detective said,

making sure you don’t move your head,

giving a mindless wonder

the coordination test for drunk drivers,

you were to be still and remain put,

then you’d be asked to stand on one foot,

poor performance indicated an obvious deception,

poor acting made you hold the applaud,

bad imagination,

and the ability to sustain the fraud,

every bluff carried a risk,

to be tossed on the hood, handcuffed, and frisked,

one less drunk driver on the road,

the detective felt blessed,

once convinced,

the drunk driver confessed.
