Have room in your mind: An Inspirational Poem

Updated on April 3, 2013

Have room in our minds

For our five senses

To feel, smell, see and hear;

Make space to honor our defenses

In a world of fear.

Source

Have room in our minds

Be grateful for our humanity

the ability to think and reason;

For the phenomenon of gravity

To stroll and enjoy the seasons

Source

Have room in our minds

Appreciate the opportunity to aspire;

Our gifts to create and imagine

The ability to inspire,

talent to fashion.

Thank You - Dido

Have room in our minds

Hold dear the fact that we exist

Thankful to live well each day

And take in all that it consists;

Wide expanse and array

Have room in our minds

Appreciate what He has bestowed

Gifts sent from above

To the best of these, an ode -

His very gift of love.

      Time is something that is equal, yet, so unequal. To step back and smell the roses is a luxury more need to enjoy! Great Poem!

      Michelle, I agree with your beautiful message here and do think we need to take some time to truly appreciate the little things in life and stop to smell the proverbial roses from time to time. Nicely worded and quite beautiful. Have voted and shared too!!

      Yep, we all have to smell the roses from time to time!! I think it's the little things we fail to remember that add up to a lot eventually. Thanks for the visit, my friend.

      True. I think it's actually a matter of taking things for granted and becoming too accustomed to being pampered by luxuries which have become necessities.......a video game is a good example. Now, everyone plays them so much that they can't do without it at home. So they see a nature walk as boring. Attention spans become shorter too. All take up the room in our minds, I'm afraid!!!

      Michelle, another AWESOME JOB!!!! Life is much too short and we should appreciate all the things in our lives and take time to smell the roses because to me it is the little things in life that mean the most. Life is a precious gift and we should give Thanks for each day we are alive, another day to inspire others, another day to enjoy what truly matters!!!
