Moonlit Night (poem)

Updated on December 28, 2012

They pledged their love upon that moonlit night

Exchanging hearts and dreams of yet to be

For by it they might keep their love in sight

-

The moon was full that evening of delight

When couple met to set their passions free

They pledged their love upon that moonlit night

-

And in the calm they held each other tight

They shared a kiss to bless this memory

For by it they might keep their love in sight

-

One day a note he left did tears incite

He had to leave and hoped that she might see

They pledged their love upon that moonlit night

-

Her anguish and her pain caused waves of blight

Which left her body hanging from a tree

For by it they might keep their love in sight

-

Now for him when the moon is shining bright

It shines into his endless misery

They pledged their love upon that moonlit night

For by it they might keep their love in sight

Clearly, one of them wasn't really into it.
