Stigma Surrounding Learning Disability That We Need To Confront
Do you have learning disabilities? Do you find it hard to talk to people because you have these disabilities?
Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia are learning disabilities. Most people in society today are ignorant and arrogant, they are inconsiderable and do not understand people who have these types of learning disabilities. These learning disabilities have behavioral disorders attached to each syndrome.
Dyslexia
Dyslexia is the most common of all the learning disabilities of the three types. The syndrome problems are reading, writing and spelling, it limits a person using their mental faculties to learn, it does not impair their intelligence. This means a Dyslexic person sees the letters with words mixed up or reversed, it does not affect their eye sight.
Dysgraphia
The confusion Dysgraphia and Dyslexia has, Dysgraphia is the inability to write. Individuals suffering from this syndrome may have contracted brain disease or damage to, the disability leaves the person having difficulties spacing words when writing, producing poor spelling with unfinished and missing letters from words. People with this condition get sore left or right hands from a cramped grip depending on the person writing with.
Dyscalculia
This learning disability relates to understanding numbers to using symbols accurate to function in the world of mathematics. Dyscalculia is a brain disorder; people that suffer with this syndrome have the difficulty of counting backwards, remembering basic facts and the inability to solve basic mathematics solutions.
The Utility Organizatins
This discussion is about Utility Suppliers and their bombastic, quarrelsome, ignorant attitude towards individuals with disabilities. Disabled people facing problems with household bills where they need to communicate with people with Utility Suppliers, gets frustrating. The Customer Care Dept should change their rules and protocols for their Customer Care Dept can address people with disabilities and learning disabilities in a proper humane manner to help with their needs. People with learning disabilities or another form of a disability have nowhere to turn to get help they need.
People with disabilities are at a disadvantage; please note, when someone does tell you they are inadequate to read and write or have another form of learning disability, or some other disability; Customer Care Dept should administer a caring, understanding attitude to help these disadvantaged people feel at ease when talking to them to help solve their problems they have within their home about either gas or electric or any other utility they may have.
A person with dyslexia or other learning disability could be suffering from behaviour problems causing depression making them feel isolated and inadequate of being a human being, when treated so badly by other people who do not care how they treat other people, be they Dyslexia, Down syndrome, or any other disability come to that.
No One Cares
Learning Disabilities People's Attitudes and Ignorance
The video below, made by a social experiment team, shows how bodily aided people treats a person with a disability walking on the street. Most of these people are passers-by, will have jobs maybe, working for a Utility Organization or for another Organization such as a Retail Outlet's that have Customer Care Service Dept's. In today's Society; it is generally people's attitudes and ignorance, why some Customer Care Service Dept's treat people suffering from Dyslexia, Autism and any other type of disability that puts these people at a disadvantage for bad treatment. In this video you can see the actor who pretended he is homeless, passers-by just completely ignoring him; the well-dressed actor gave the help he needed.
Does Appearance Change Or With Disabilities How People Are Treated?
The Rich, The Famous People And The Utility Organizations
The author is sure the rich and famous suffering learning disabilities or any other type of disability get the red-carpet treatment from Utility organizations; is this because of, they have the money for their utility bills. Everyone expects caring treatment and treated as equals. Yet, an ordinary person with these types of disabilities the utility organizations still uses bad manners. It's like one rule for the rich and famous and another rule for the ordinary person with these disabilities.
Famous People with Learning Disabilities
More Than Their Jobs Worth Poem
HERE I SIT HEAD IN HANDS.
COLD AND SHIVERING
WATCHING MY PLANTS WITHERING,
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE A HELPING HAND?
THE UTILITY COMPANY, CHIT CHAT
IN EXCHANGE TO SAY THIS AND THAT.
THE UTILITY COMPANY KNOW, I DON’T READ NOR WRITE
THEY SAY I DO THIS, THEY SAY I DO THAT,
SO HOW CAN THINGS BE RIGHT?
BECAUSE THEY KNOW I GOT NO GAS.
MORE THAN THEIR JOB'S WORTH.
THE LADY SAYS, WE CAN’T DO WHAT YOU ASK,
YOU NEED TO SEE WHAT YOUR METER READS.
I SAT THERE NODDING DRINKING TEA FROM MY FLASK,
BUT, DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND I SAID
WITH ALL MY FIGHT,
HOW CAN YOU BE COLD HEARTED AND LIGHT.
IN THE END.
I COUNTED MY BLESSINGS
THAT, I DID NOT GO ROUND THE BEND,
THE UTILITY COMPANY, I GOT NOWHERE.
CAN ANYONE, PLEASE HAVE A MINUTE OR TWO TO SPARE.
I GOT THE HELP TO READ THE GAS METER,
FROM A NICE MAN CALLED PETER.
HE PRODDED AND GAVE A POKE
TO SEE THE DIGITAL NUMBERS LIGHT UP.
OH! PLEASE DON'T LET THIS BE A JOKE.
THE DIGITAL NUMBERS THEY MISLEAD
BECAUSE, THE DIGITAL CARD JUST WON’T FEED,
THE MONEY THAT WILL SINK IN,
THE UTILITY COMPANY SAY’S
THE CARD, IT WILL POP IN.
MORE THAN THEIR JOB'S WORTH

Want me to put your article on my timeline ?
It's amazing to me how cold people can be, even now, with a greater understanding of just about everything. Thank you for this lovely poem.
I know people with dyslexia and know what they have to go through each and every day. It's something they are born with and can not help. We have to be understanding, helpful and caring. You have written a beautiful and perceptive poem. Well done!
There are many people in our world with crippling physical and mental injuries. We can only be patient, loving, caring and helpful. Never judge them for we can be there as quickly.Thank you for sharing your work and reaching out to as many of us as you can.
...well you are not only dealing with this in poetic form - you are dealing with this in poetic form with a sense of humor, slight irreverence and wit and also with a gift of your wonderful writing ability and your will and sensitivity to communicate and entertain us but also to educate and enlighten us as well - thank you for your courage, your spunk and your beautiful heart - this will be posted most proudly to my FACEBOOK page with a direct link back here and in closing the epi-man says hubbravo to you

I have seen people suffering from dyslexia, and being treated badly. You have recreated the pain and suffering beautifully.
Thanks for sharing mrslagibb. That's the beauty of writing , it's healing , it's truth , it shares in ways that others ways have failed , it explains and it clarifies.
Beautiful when you write you truthful thoughts others will understand especially when they are truthful too.
It's usually who feels it knows it until it's shared.
Give thanks.
This is very touching. We never know how bad it is for a person who has dyxlesia or any other disability. I remember my Mother's words, " You have to walk in their shoes before you can understand or make a judgement " I agree. Thank you for sharing..Well done..
