Muted Love

Updated on May 5, 2015

I would not know you loved me, could your lips not speak

Yet a spate more than promise, I so hopelessly seek

In the silent quarters of my thoughts,

compassion cries as desire rots

Secure my eyes so I can no longer see,

how loving you is destroying me

My darling, you're causing an anguished void

My mercy you've trialed, my emotions you've toyed

Forgiveness has taken its final toll

on this naked, moth ridden, infertile soul

My heart is now numb, it feels no lust....

....Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
