My Dear Friend I Accepted

Updated on August 2, 2012

i accepted

you in many ways

i accepted

when you pretended

to want to be with me

to see you in a way

that was not true to thee

i accepted

when you wanted me

to see you in your true way

i accepted you

when you seemed strong

when you seemed weak

when you needed me

when you decided i was broken

and you moved on

& needed nothing from me

i accepted you

my dear carissimi

i accepted you

when you tried to influence me

when you tried to let me be free

when you wanted me to move on

when you wanted me to hold on

i accepted you

when i was not good enough

for you to acknowledge

to even know me

i accepted you

when you were angry

when you were sad

when i thought you gone mad

when you thought i gone mad

i accepted you

when i thought you were my friend

when i thought you were my foe

when you were neither friend nor foe

I accepted you

Such pure honesty written here my friend. Love the flow and sincerity in your words and I certainly 'accept' you as a really great poet and writer - I also love your work here as a book reviewer too.

You have the gift to communicate and you use it so well.

It's so nice to meet you. And most of my writing is fictional and though it's often in first person pronoun it's not about me - I am just a storyteller.

Sending you warm wishes and a Happy Valentine's day for tomorrow - from lake erie time ontario canada 9:11pm
