My Delightful Daughter

Updated on February 05, 2015

Brighter than a Crystal Chandelier

Chandeliers light up the room,

Sparkling crystal,

Beautiful------- Bright,

That´s how it feels,

When you walk in the room,

YOU......... You light up my life.

Real chandeliers could not

make me feel.

The joy that you bring

To my heart.

Your laughter, your smile,

The love that you show.

YOU............You light up my life.

You light up a room,

like a bright chandelier ,

You don´t even know

That you do it.

When you were tiny ,

You couldn't have known it,

Your sparkling eyes

and giggling laughter,

Were lighting the room

and my life.

Way back when..... was a beautiful song,

Ain't no sunshine when you´re gone.,

That´s how I feel

When you wave goodbye,

A light goes out

from within my eyes,.

Because you.....

You light up my life.

Thank you for this poignant work about our daughters. I have the same feelings about my own, and it is so true, that they do light up our lives.

Aaaw! billybuc. How could I ask for anything better than my poem moving a parent to think of calling his son?

      Thank you so much.

What a wonderful poem to your daughter. Yes like the tierra she wears upon her crown they shine like a lighted chandelier. The beauty of a daughter is every mother and father's crowning delight. I am thankful I have two even though I never see or speak to them, I'm still prayerful that they will return into my life one day before I die.

Dim I feel the love in your words, cherish her forever and keep telling her you love her always. Thank you for this beautiful share, she has grown into a beautiful lady just like her mum. Peace and blessings I send to you this day.

Thank you, Vincent for those kind words.

I´m so sorry you don´t have contact with your daughters. They don´t realise what they are missing.

Peace and blessings back to you.

There's great devotion and love both in your words and heart. Wonderful poem. I just read your comment above. I lost my mother when I was 13. The words you speak of your daughter speak the truth. God Bless.

      You light up my life

      You give me hope

      to carry on

      You light up my days

and fill my nights with song

Your beautiful tribute poem inspired that Debby Boone smash hit from the 70s , Dim. And to be honest about it, your words evoke deeper feelings than the pop hit does. A son is a son till he takes a wife but a daughter is a daughter all her life. Awesome and beautiful have never been more appropriate for a poem.

This is so beautiful Dim. The love for your daughter really does shine through, it is such a special love. Is that an actual picture of your daughter? She is indeed beautiful, just like her mother, inside and out. You have a beautiful heart Dim. Naturally voting up and pressing those buttons too.

Thank you so much for the lovely comment.

The top pic is my husband holding our daugher as a baby and yes, the bottom one was taken on her wedding day.

      Take care.
