My Garden of Life

Updated on December 7, 2012

My garden of life is a maze of wonder

Come walk with me

Among flowers watered with tears.

Feet touching a carpet of dreams

Moss like and soft to the touch

Rising above the thorns.

Arms reaching to the sun

Expanding like petals

Drinking in the warmth of love.

Fighting the winds of change blowing

The tempest attacking

A storm most violent and chaotic.

I weather the storms

Accepting their challenge

Clouds are only temporary.

This garden two score by two

Has lived, loved, and cried

But never abandoned hope.

This is my garden of life

A challenge oft a battle

But mine to win or lose.

I choose to win

Though battles my be lost

I understand the cost.

This is my garden

This is my life

A price well paid.

Wow. Really nice. I especially liked "I choose to win // Though battles my be lost // I understand the cost."

Such an apt metaphor I think--beautifully lyrical
