My Gold and Me
Life without Christ is life without purpose
It's been so long since I've seen my home.
All this time, I've been on my own.
Long years of pain,
Long years of misery,
And what have I gained?
Just a place in history.
Years from now they'll all know me,
The brave fool who sailed the seas
In search of gold,
In search of wealth,
But now I'm growing old,
And I'm lost within myself.
Now my time has come to die.
It's time to see the end of what was my life.
But no one will see.
No one will hear me cry.
No one will know I've died,
Just my gold and me,
Just my gold . . .
