My Heart to Give
Slowly, her eyes open from her slumber.
Her arm stretches across the bed to find no one beside her.
She rolls over and embraces her sheets of umber
Her dreams are all but a blur,
Trying to recollect her dreams, she stares at the ceiling.
Her tears running down her face
Are an all too familiar feeling.
For her heart, she tries to find a place.
A place so sacred.
She tires of nightly loneliness
Just one night of bliss
Is not enough
True love, she does miss
The pain in her heart,
As she tries to reminisce
Of a love departed.
She whispers out
"I gave you my heart,
The greatest treasure for me to give
And you protected it so.
What can I give
For you to live
For us to dance again?"
