My Life in Soul Searching Honesty
I dedicate this to my beautiful dad, Stan. He was so special and a far cry from the man this song tells us about.
My son, only eight years old and full of wonder.
I am what I am and nothing more,
you are what I see, I am in awe.
Standing before me, your aura shines,
your love and wisdom, so divine.
Loving hands, I gather to my heart
engaging feelings to the world, I impart.
For when I am with you all that I can see
are numbered days laid before me.
White light glows amongst flowers laid
tiny steps we waltz into the glade.
You hold me, willing my life to stay
your movement takes me further away.
As my life slips, in your heart I remain.
With trembling lips I seek to gain,
a glimmer of hope from wild open eyes,
a lifetime spent in awe and often in disguise.
Who is this person who before me stands,
whose shadow I once stood in that demands
a world of realisation dawns,
from a restrictive childhood where dark clouds storms?
Forgive my selfish lies and sad longing face,
to submit my form unto your grace.
A lifetime of tender moments I crave,
and I fear will sadly lead me to my grave.
Good times ahead I will leave for my children, true.
Memories of a fondness never to be replaced but grew
into a lifetime of happiness from when you were born
a moment of sadness resides in the early morn,
will never replace all my love I feel for you,
And nurtured in my garden, blue.
Life is for the living, and for the beautiful child,
I wish him to see marigolds to run, play and hide.
