My Take on the Stock Market Closing Down- Satire Poetry

Updated on March 9, 2020
always exploring profile image

I dabble a little bit in the stock market, this morning it closed because everyone was losing money fast and furious, Trump blamed the DNC.

This must be where Trump wants all Demos to live.
This must be where Trump wants all Demos to live.

Oh woe is me

The stock market wiped me out drastically

That old virus, is it to blame?

I think not, it's the Putin Puppet in the white house whose stoking the flame

He ' dun ' lost his millions twice in a row

He wants us Demo to be poor, live in the ghetto with a dirt floor

That's me trying to find my hidden dough,
That's me trying to find my hidden dough,

I didn't have all my dough in bonds and stocks

Instead of hiding it in my socks

News flash for the Putin Trumpster

I might hide it in my homemade dumpster.

Hello Lora, lucky you that you knew this was coming. I went down to Edward Jones to take my money out after this loss and he told me to never take it out after a loss, so I didn't. It's a good thing you knew before the downfall happened. I checked today and it's going back up slowly. Thanks for coming to read my silly poem.

Very witty poem, Ruby! I'm just thankful that I took all of mine out months ago as I heard the economy was going to tank with Trump's trade wars. I don't know what we're headed for but it certainly seems like an obstacle course. Your poem maybe a forecast of what's coming. Excellent poem! Sorry for your loss.

Hello Pamela. I know a lot of people got hurt with the market losing so much that it closed. And, I feel sad for them. This ditty was meant to be funny. Instead of being sad, I decided to have fun with it. The line about the dumpster was meant to be funny, and it rhymed with Trumpster. Who would be so dumb to hide money there? I did lose money on the stock market, but it always rebounds. Thank you for coming by.

My buddy who is a Democrat has made millions on the stock market. He says he "plays" the market. He was trying to explain how he was getting rich off the down side. Beyond me.

I really like the intrigue of Putin and Trump having doubles and then slinking off to Iceland to plan their evil doings --

Yes. Very pertinent poem. Those of us with stocks and private pensions will defintely take a hit. If nothing, we will learn, I hope, how everything is connected to everything else. But will we?

      Great awareness piece!
