My book of truth

Updated on October 22, 2012

I filled a book with my heart

The words you cannot know

Each page the pain I keep inside

For you I just won't show

These lines remain my secrect

The story of my soul

And you are the only thing

That makes it feel whole

I feel ashamed for all my lies

When I wish you the best

Or how I don't feel for you

And put my love to rest

For these words slice through my tongue

Like I am eating glass

Wishing that they were the truth

And that the pain would pass

But in the truth...........there is a war

That rages in my heart

For I know if you read my book

We'd never be apart

This is so beautiful! Love the words, love the thoughts, love the feelings you put into it...they just flow all together so beautifully.

I like this line especially: "For these words slice through my tongue

      Like I am eating glass"

Jon, don't wish your words to slice your tongue. Let your absence eradicate her reason to cause pain. Give the spore no conductor and it cannot poison.

Voted up and beautiful. Memories can be precious and they can bring back things we'd rather forget however at this moment you bring out such emotions in your poems. Loved this. Hugs. Passing this on.

Painfully cuts deep into one's heart . . . please give her the book, why would you not do so? Sorry, I always take things I read literally.
