My young mind.

Updated on September 9, 2009

Oldies but goodies.

Poems I wrote YEARS ago...

These are just a few of the poems I wrote when I was a teenager/in my early 20's.  I wrote hundreds, but these are the one's I wanted to share.  They are in no particular order.

Joke (written 09-03-02)

A thought escaped from my crowded mind, I thought I had lost it.  It must have been a lie, as they say.  It was a lie, it didn't matter, either way...

These words escaped from my timid mouth.  Did I really say it?  It must have been a lie, as I said.  It was a lie, I didn't mean it, either way...

What a joke, I couldn't believe all the lies I spoke.  Not words of love and compassion.  These words of pain and deception.

A thought emerged from my empty heart when I lost you.  Knowing that I was the one to blame.  Knowing that I caused all our pain.

What a joke, I couldn't believe all of these lies I spoke.  Not words of love and compassion.  These words of pain and deception.  When I told you "I don't love you anymore."

Until the day I die, I will love you.  Even then, I will love you from Heaven.  I will love you from Heaven.

Deny (written 02-25-03)

The face of fate looks you in the eye and you deny her.  Walk right by her like a gentle breeze.  For just the thought of him brings you to your knees.

A gentle man touches your heart and you deny him.  Walk right by him like he doesn't exist.  For the void in your soul deserves more than a faithless kiss.

A gentle girl was broken by a modest man.  She can't deny him.  She holds onto him like he's the air she breathes.  For only his memory carries the strength she has seized.

This modest man controls her mind, she doesn't deny it.  He sleeps inside her like a lullaby.  For only this memory keeps this gentle girl alive.

Life For You (written 08-27-02)

Life is beauty to all who assume it.  Life is precious and worthy.  The world is not useless, these people are careless, they're the ones who tear it apart.  They batter and bruise it, twist and abuse it, then cry their life is unfair.  Life is always unfair.  Life is not faithful.  One day, life will leave you, when you leave this behind.  Life is gracious to all but the faithless, but why have they lost their faith?  Place your trust in the Father, the Son, the Creator.  Believe there's a reason while you're still here.  If your life is painful, lonely, or sorrowful, If the world is closing in on you...I dedicate this to you.

Inside The Moon (written 01-02-00..and actually won a contest on in '02)

My skies have dimmed to grey.  The dancing wind.  The whispers move inside the moon.  Green fades to blue, yellow too.  The colors move inside the moon.  We don't belong.  I hope we'll go back.  Where does this go from here?  I want to breathe with you.  Inside the moon we will sleep.  I sound like you, you sound like me.  I opened my eyes, my stomach turned.  I'm breathing you, you're breathing me.  We don't belong.  I'd love to go back.  I'm lost within you.  Just take my love tonight.  Please, take my love tonight.

Everybody Feels The Same (written 12-12-00)

Look at you, he will lose you in this little world he owns.  If he loves you...he did love you, but this wasn't known.  She loves him and he wants to be him, this man they adore.  But you can love him, they can't love him.  Though they all may want him more.  His eyes see through you, his smile carries you, and his words sing you a song.  If he really knew you, he would love you, and nothing would go wrong.  You've lost him and you forgot him.  Friends mean so much more.  But you can love him... why can't you love him, this man you adore?

When you need someone you can't want, the pain burns your eyes to tears.  He's the only one who can save you... But, everybody feels the same.

I hope you enjoyed these.  Thanks for reading! =)

Still waters run deep. Who knew what you were thinking in those years? Very nice and well done. Keep going.
