Nature's Display: A Poem

Updated on March 20, 2012

Nature's Display

The sweet breeze blew in across the windowsill

My sleeping body approving the touch

Newly born buds whispering in my ear

Stirring me, but not too much.

My early morning wake-up call

Nature displaying her best in the golden light

I’m nudged again by the pleasant scent

Gently my eyes open to experience the sight.

Tulips my mother planted back in the 90s. No one ever touches them, they just do as they please!

Lazily I lounge on air-cooled sheets

Warm sun kissing me on my fingers and toes

I bask in the glory of this quiet moment in bed

As she once again sends the breeze to tickle my nose.

I go to the window and answer her request

The daffodils wave as the birds start to sing

This special moment comes but once a year

That sweet scented first day of Spring!

AudreyHowitt, thanks! We've been experiencing spring weather around here for a few weeks now, but today it is a bit cool and rainy! More like fall!

Spring is here, and your poem catches that essence and what lovely images.

Bill, thanks for the awesome comment! I use a Kodak EasyShare C813. It has 8.2 mega pixels and is probably considered very old and outdated by now! Digital is so easy to use, but I'd like to get into film photography one day! I'd like to have my own darkroom.

Lisa, what a artist you are, the pictures that mother nature gives you are exquisite in their beauty and are only matched by your poetic rhyme. only your beauty is comparable to the flowers that are put on these pages.

      Beautiful hub. great poetry.

You probably have the info somewhere but I'll ask anyway....what kind of camera do you use? Beautiful pictures and your poetry always brings a smile to my face.

Reading this on an unexpectedly snowy morning in western Oregon. I think I will jst leave your pictures up all day and not look out the window here. Lovely words and images.

So beautiful and fantastic. I love Spring, the flowers, the fresh smell of the air, the new warmth. Your hub made me feel all of these things inside of me. Well except the flowers, they are lovely. Thank you for this hub. Voted up :)

This was very well put together and very prettily done. I enjoyed both the photography and the mental imagery.
