No Gain Without Pain

Updated on May 21, 2022

If you pick up a ripe orange when you are so hungry and probably all that is available to eat at that point in time was just that orange, all you will think about is probably how you are going to peel that orange and cut it into two halves so that you can squeeze out the juice of each half into your mouth to deliver it down your throat into your hungry stomach.

What you will gain from the orange above is the juice in that orange. Even though it will not quench your hunger, it will still give you some of satisfaction. But imagine this; if you do not peel the orange, cut it into two halves and squeeze the juice out of it, there is no way you going to get the juice out. Despite the fact that you are seriously hungry, you still have to go through the pain of peeling the orange, cutting it into two halves and squeezing the juice out.

In this life, whatever you want no matter how big or small it may be, you need to go through the process of obtaining what you want and that process can be painful sometimes but the reward at the end of the day is that you gain what you want. Take for example, why do we go to school? No matter what your reasons may be, if you look at it, the reason we go to school is to gain something at the end of the day. Take for example one of the reason we go to school could be so that we can get a good job that pays a fat salary or wages because if you don’t get a good job you can not get that salary you want and that job may require that you have some college or university qualification.

There is nobody great today no matter who they are or what they maybe doing that got there without going through process. The mistake we make most time is that we want to get to the top of the roof from where are standing on the ground and the only way to get there is through a ladder standing in front of us. Instead of taking one step at a time up the ladder, we want to skip from the bottom one straight to topmost one and hush!!! What a terrible fall that would be.

There is nothing you want in this life that you cannot get. One thing is for sure, if you have seen someone get it, then you can get it too. But more than that, if you can dream it you can achieve it. I must say though, it is going to be one painful process to go through but the gain in the end would be worth it.
