No Passions (poem)
No passions stood in this one’s way
No longer could heart like this stray
While others would show their dismay
As yesterdays just passed away
-
No passions stood in this one’s way
When his aid and counsel were sought
By those with confusion were fraught
So still was the comfort he brought
-
When life brought on reason for tears
No longer could heart like this stray
As promise’s light disappears
His footsteps familiar now nears
-
The scent of compassion would bare
As surrender filled empty air
While others would show their dismay
The cause would be lost in his stare
-
And then to the sunset he turns
A memory no longer burns
Another heart no longer churns
As yesterdays just passed away
