Poem: Numb

Updated on April 5, 2010

I enter the parking lot

I sigh with dread

I slowly find the energy to go on

I open the door and start the walk

I numb my mind along the way

I wonder how long this will last

I dream of something better

I wonder what I've become

I leave the parking lot

I sigh with relief

I try to denumb my mind

I struggle to not let this define me

Thanks all for the comments...this is my first poem or whatever and I was nervous about even making it public!

Trust me, being numb all the time isn't all that great!

I'm left wondering where this parking lot is... work, hospital, school? Very intriguing.

@Cris A: Hola...thanks for the comments. Yeah, numbing the mind is hard, but, for me, essential, for mental stability!
