OH HAPPY DAYS...BY b. Malin

So here I am in Florida Land...A place I longed to be...The house got sold, though I never really said goodbye to it, not officially... For "Closing Day" was one big Rush, Rush...That fact haunts me...For I have no closure, and silly as it might sound to someone else, I needed that. For that little house was like a "Womb"...we'd done so much in the five years that we spent in it...Fixing, painting, making it "us". I know the New Owners will Love it, they said they did over and over again, before, and after closing..."We LOVE it, We LOVE it"! So I guess that will have to work for me.

Florida is Wonderful, the people are Friendly and Nice, and for the most part, "Polite" and more Laid back, which took some getting used to after having lived on the Jersey Shore for over 20 years. Now I'm NOT putting Jersey down...NEVER! You know how I loved the Beach and the Sand, and the Boardwalk...But the people, the TRUE New Jersey ones...Ah, the "Attitude", that Jersey Attitude, they know what I'm talking about, and believe me, some of that Attitude did rub off on us. But slowly, ever so slowly, we are losing it.

The Condo with the view looks great...We've converted the "Guest" bathroom with the tub into a long walk- in Shower. The Company that did the work, which will remain Nameless...Because it was quite an Experience...lots of MISTAKES were made, but they CHEERFULLY, ever so CHEERFULLY corrected them, as they Damaged other areas in the process...But, in the end, we were ALL pleased with the Results...CHEERFULLY So. NOW Gluttons for punishment that we are, we are going to have them do the Shower in the Master Bedroom later on this month! So of course they are Happy, Happy...While we are quietly OPTIMISTIC...

Now New Year's has come and gone...We spent it in the company of one of our Neighbors at the "Country Club" across the way...An interesting evening indeed. Let me say, we Enjoyed the food, the music, and the people...THEY, did not...THEY thought the Food was AWFUL, wait, they liked the Soup...I, who usually LOVE soup...thought it was ok...But the Rolls, which I had 2 of, were Deliciously warm, and I confess, I even put BUTTER on them! Actually, I just read an article during the week written by a Famed Doctor, stating that Butter is better for you than margarine which has all those additives, etc. Anyway, we all had the "Filet Mignon" which I thought was Delicious, along with a twice baked Potato, and fresh vegetables. Now, I have to confess, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Potatoes, I could live on eating Potatoes along with some fresh vegetables, and Fish, Chicken, or Meat, and be VERY HAPPY...So simply put, I was in Heaven...THEY thought the Potato and the Filet Mignon were TASTELESS, SIMPLY TASTELESS! I've heard Taste buds can change, I'm just saying...

Ah, the Music, I LOVE to dance...and they played music from the 60's on up...Young and old and Lover Man and I were DANCING...Guess who was NOT? Ok, ok, in all fairness, they did do ONE Slow dance. It could have been a Happy time, it SHOULD have been a Happy Time, and you know what...It was a HAPPY TIME for Lover Man & I, after all, Happy is what WE make it!

So as we dance bodies and Minds into 2014, I'm back and Loving it...I missed you guys... I missed reading your Hubs and commenting... I'm BACK... and I'M LOVING IT!
