~Blooper Thoughts~
Ten years ago we eloped into the winds of chance
cityhall was where we sealed our romance
three months of dating and then years of grief, he stole my heart lie a common thief
I remember the day quite well, it was like I was under a spell, we must have been we were in blue jeans, baseball caps, tennis shoes and Tshirst, the vision of that moment sitll hurts
but he was holding my hand like a brand new man, I assumed it was the age difference and he needed help to stand
he was smiling from ear to ear and so was I, we were so happy I almost cried, then we made it to the front of the line, the city clerk took our application and said sign on the dotted line
wait over there please someone will be with you soon, so we sat patiently in the waiting room, all of a sudden we heard our names called, before we could get to our feet, people were alread rusing our seats
the chapel was just a little sitting room, a few chairs and an arch design just for two, as we approach the poteum there stood the city clerk, bible in hand smiling with a badge on her shirt
the shock of it all must have shown on my face, because she begin to explain she was licenced by the state
well of course I asked her to prove it to me, because the thought of it was stealing my glee, at that point there was nothing much I could do, she had the documents to prove she was licenced for that to
I stood there for a moment to reevaluate the situation, took a good look around and realized there was only one exit at her station
back the way we had came in, across the lobby to the parking lot, at that moment I was emotionally distraught
but my life up to that point had been a rat race and it was time for me to settle down in one place besides, the expression on his handsome face, ultimately and permanently sealed my fate
