~Our America~
~Prologue~
This country belongs to all of us...
"OUR AMERICA"
I love America with all
its flaws, all its statutes
and all it's challenging laws.
I love the snow I've never seen,
the mountains I will never climb,
the languages I may never speak,
I love America and all it's diversity.
I love America's unrealistic policies, their we are the world attitude.
Republican, Liberals, Democrats may not share the same views, but we all struggle to live by the same boisterous rules.
I love the sandy beaches, parks and tourist traps, I love being able to take a nap without bombs exploding against my back.
I love our armed forces even at times when they fall off course, because as I look around the world things could definitely be worse.
I love all this new technology, the power of the mind is exuberantly free, one of the greatest gifts to humanity.
I even love watching cable tv, and this internet continues to mesmerize me.
Its said in America you can be all that you can be, and yes, I completely agree, I am daily amazed at some of the things I see.
I love the different ethnicities though some of there religious practices seem a bit oblique, I think its just a part of being unique.
I love floating around in this melting pot, and cherish what I have though it doesn't seem like a lot, yet I am secure in knowing there is plenty of room for me in the pot.
Most of all I love freedom of speech, because sometimes I just want to shout at all the atrocities plaguing humanity.
Yes, this country belongs to all of us, and its up to you and I to embrace it wholeheartedly, if not for anything more than true love, passion, and long term solidarity.
