Love is Everything: A Dedication to Ms Dora for her 65 Years of Youth. Happy Birthday!! by Manatita
“Love radiates the life of harmony,
Brightens the joy of consciousness, and sharpens the sword of intuition.
Love is always ready to meet man’s every soulful demand.
Love conquers all that is unlike God.
It is, indeed, supreme over all.” – Fr. Songs of the Soul, by Sri Chinmoy, P35, (1971). Agni Press.
This Hub is about the beauty and sublimity of Love, this great and sacred key to open the door of Happiness. Love is the unparalleled sacrifice for all, the yearning of the one for the One and the very ground of Being. It is the pulse or beat of life.
There is a story that the God Kârtikeya, leader of the Heavenly army, once happened to scratch a cat with his nail. On going home he saw there was the mark of a scratch on the cheek of his Mother. Seeing this, he asked of her:
‘Mother, Dear, how have you got that ugly scratch on your cheek?’
The Mother replied, ‘Darling, hast thou forgotten having scratched a cat this morning?’
Kârtikeya said, ‘Yes, I did scratch a cat; but how did your cheek get marked?’
The Mother replied, ‘Dear child, nothing exists in this world but me. I am all creation. Whomsoever thou hurtest, thou hurtest me.’
True Love is just like this. We see a similar sacrifice in the mother’s love for her dearest, but the immortal Love of which I write, is like an enormous umbrella that sacrifices for all. Of course love is synonymous with the Source, the Supreme. The scriptures tell us that:
“God is Love, and he that dwelleth in Love, dwelleth in God.” 1 John 4:16.
The supreme mystic and Seer-poet Kabir expresses this in a sublime and eloquent way:
The Light of The Sun
The light of the sun, the moon, and the stars shines bright:
The melody of love swells forth, and the rhythm of love’s detachment beats the time.
Day and night, the chorus of music fills the heavens; and Kabîr says
“My Beloved One, gleams like the lightning flash in the sky.”
The Delight of Human Experience
A very saintly woman once fell madly in love with another such man. She visited a Seer as was the custom in those days, to obtain his blessings for their marriage. The Sage blessed her but said that her husband was destined to die within the year. He also encouraged her to pray daily and gave her the sight of inner vision.
One year later her husband died and the wife, though her inner vision, saw that the Lord of Death, Yama, was approaching. Thereon she began a series of entreaties with the Lord of Death, to save her husband’s life. All this was to no avail. She thus agreed to die with her husband as she could not live without him, and as such she followed the Lord of Death everywhere and would not leave.
Yama pleaded and cajoled and made some pretty powerful promises, telling her also that her time had not come. But all she ever said was “Give me back my husband.” The story goes that Yama was overwhelmed by the power of her Love, and brought the husband back to life. Love conquers all:
"Do you know how the moments perform their adoration?
Waving its row of lamps, the universe sings in worship day and night,
There are the hidden banner and the secret canopy:
There the sound of the unseen bells is heard.
Kabîr says: “There adoration never ceases,
There the Lord of the Universe sitteth on His throne.”

The great Mahapurush, Papa Ramdas of India, said that Love is the highest attainment, and that all spiritual practices end in this sweet consummation. He continues thus:
“Love is the end of the quest. See that you are absorbed in God who is Love … let all your emotions be of love. Life is dry and insipid if it is not filled with love. Be intoxicated with love – the love that blesses you with a vision of your Beloved. All beings are the forms of your Beloved. Grace, Love and Bliss are synonymous. The three are one in your Beloved, and you are He. Dance with joy.” Thus Spoke Ramdas, Verse N0. 80, Anandashram, 1984.
The Alpha and Omega of the Journey
Love as The Foundation
Human love is not really separate from divine Love, but simply a lesser form of Love. Indeed, some of my friends here will know that human love can be very sublime! Still, there is usually a tinge of expectation, attachment, possession, insecurity and so forth.
In human love you give me a piece of candy and want your 25 cents. In divine Love there is no bargaining. I give you the candy freely and the joy of my giving is the reward. God-Souls come into the world for this very purpose.
Love purifies, ennobles and sanctifies every movement of life. It invites sufferings for the sake of the Beloved and transmutes them into unalloyed joy. Love is like a dart called Ananda which injects only bliss.
Love says to us: “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. In my haven there are many sanctuaries. I have prepared a special one for you, so that you can merge in Me and I in you, and as such become One, even to the end of time ....”
Love is the end of all inner teaching, the end of the journey. The highest spiritual force is Love. Love is the song of illumination and liberation:
“Love is the root; the foundation of our Path. We feel that God is dearer to us not because He is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent, but just because He is all Love.” – Sri Chinmoy.
The great visionary and illumined Teacher continues, with the voice and inner vision of authority:
Beautifully Ending Message
Mother Theresa of Calcutta
Do you know of anyone worthy of the love of which I speak? Not your parents.
Is Love the be all and end all to You?
Ultimately Everything Becomes Boring.
Ultimately everything
Becomes boring.
Even great miracles
Become boring.
Even the tremendous powers of the cosmic gods
Become boring.
Even God the Omniscient
Becomes boring.
Even God the Omnipotent
Becomes boring.
But, but, but
God the All-Love
Never becomes boring,
Never. – Sri Chinmoy, The Dance of Life, Pt 13.
So, my brothers and sisters, let us all rise, soar high and hold the world in one embrace of Love. Our dwelling place is the Heart, the home of the Universe which is our body. Let us live in it as Love.
