~Ocean~ ... ~Sail~... Tribute to the HMS Bounty
~Ocean~
Die out of this world I must,
So wrap me
In the arms of the ocean I love
Let me breathe my last
As I bury my face
Close against the chest
Of her powerful waves
Let the sound
Of her belly laugh
Or her lions’ roar
Be the sound that lulls me to sleep
For the very last time.
She is my soul.
She completes me.
To die away from her
To die watching from afar
No, please…
Let me die
With my love
With the one who gave my life
Meaning
And purpose
Time with her…
And time without her…
Thoughts of her
Filled my hours
And my days…
And now, my life is complete.
Oh yes,
Lay me down in the arms of my lifes’ love
And when you think of the ocean
When you see her
Or hear her
I will be with you
Once again.
Lovingly dedicated to Captain Robin Walbridge and Crewmember Claudene Christian who lost their lives faithfully serving the HMS Bounty.
~Sail!
And when the final chapter is written
Let it read, simply
That I sailed with great passion…
…into the raging seas
…and the chilling mists,
Where the book would finally close.
But oh!
How I did sail!!
Lovingly dedicated to the memory of the HMS Bounty who sailed her final voyage into Hurricane Sandy, October 29th, 2012.
