Ocean's Dream
Giving me glass eyes to look back at her
She tucked away the seams
And fabricated my lips
So that my words could ease her suffering
She has a sarcastic way of being seen
Nothing that i say
will brush her make up away
This vanity is killing me
Dotted lines fall in between
The pockets where she tucked in the seams
Cupid's Arrow
Cuba's missile
She sighs and steels all attention
Maybe her thoughts need restoration
Tired from infestation
She made my lungs out of milk cartons
And helped me take my first breath
Holding the hand that she traced for me
We dove into the oceans depths
Sea life frightens her
So i took the lead
Amongst the fish,
We caught a ride on the back of a turtle
Who dropped us in a reef
She swore one day that she would leave her shell
She swore one day she would be free
Trying so hard to convince me
Explaining that one day i would believe
It all means so much more to me
That which a glass eye cannot see
Pressure builds and pops the seams
The currents carry me to another dream
