Ode to a Woman in Need
All of eternity and the warmest of loves lies in her eyes
The eyes have it all all the rest of the flesh simply does their bidding
Ode to a woman in need.
In the
opaque
depths
of two
orbicular pools
one might
notice that
emotions often
well up there
or take
shelter under
the flesh petal
hoods that
guard the
flowers of
her irises.
Within these
windows to
the gardens
of her mind
there lie worlds
that few
could visualize
places she
has stared
out of
and will
never go
back to.
Losses reflected
in the studying
done by
her two pupils
as they
refracted her
pain into
manageable parts
in the form of
glinting tears
crystallizing
on her cheeks.
But there
is also
love and
beauty within
those eyes,
they have
captured imaginations,
stolen even
the strongest
of hearts
and made men
willing to sacrifice all
to behold their gaze,
and when they gaze on you
with the full strength
of that combination
you are flung helpless
into their void
and swept away
into love's
most tender grasp.
