Ode to Talisay
Talisay City
Ode to Talisay
You’re like a grandfather to me
Teaching things I won’t rather see
Your persistence has finally seep through
Still I walked like blind though
Through the abyss of life
I tread on, hearing nothing despite the strife
One day a clamor has been heard
Like a real grandfather with a long beard
In a dismal state I have been awaken
From a deep slumber I have arisen
That not all things I perceive
This heart would not gladly receive
For beyond these eyes could glimpse
A horizon outside are living imps
Not to be deceived by witty smiles
Could see beyond those guiles
What a beautiful paradox has been unfolded
From those wizen wisdom you have founded
Have they taken heed?
They wouldn’t have gotten misdeed
Yet warnings are often forgotten
Especially in times of contentment
When all hell broke lose
Only then they’ll listen to old grand goose…
