On The Wings of Pain

Updated on May 3, 2011

The Wings of Pain

On the wings of pain,
in a flood of tears...
the most potent lesson
of life appears...
to brand its mark
upon the heart
that won't forget
to then embark
on enlightened path
where wisdom's earned...
it's on wings of pain
forgiveness is learned.

Great message through beautiful poetry! It's an emotional, painful path, yet the most powerful way to learn.

Erin, you are so right...and forgiveness is sometimes a painful lesson to learn, at least, it has been for me, and I am still learning, on the wings of pain...Peace to you! and thank you!

beautiful, and so true. Its in those dark places I feel we earn our scars of wisdom only to rise above again stronger. So eloquent.

bella, thank you, Love! It is true that sometimes sorrow is crippling but without sorrow we cannot know joy...it is a necessary part of the human experience, not fun, but necessary! Hugs!

Those wings extend and seem to keep extending sometimes will become crippled when we experience a broken wing of sorrow I pray that our wings heal and we can one day take flight and glide the blues like we were meant to...GReat stuff M!!

      smiles :)

To extract all impurities iron ore heated to unbearable temperatures. We must sometimes suffer great pain in order to let go and move on.The pain we feel is the pain we create by our reluctance to let go. Thank you.

Hyphenbird, pruning is painful, indeed, but brings forth great growth! I hadn't thought of that when I wrote this...but I see the connection! Thank you!

I remember the Scripture where the vinekeeper prunes so the vine grows bigger and produces mre fruit. Pruning does hurt and the results are magnificent. Well written, lovely and dedicated to a beautiful soul.

A little more shine for my scruffy wings, my dear friend, although I must say my workout routines, both physical and emotional, with your incredible help, and that of Ms. Dallas, and of course, a small group of very special others, lends me a most majestic pair of incredibly strong wings, although, again, not much to look at...
