When Once I Remembered - B. Stuart Noll

I commute each lifetime from home afar

away from all I know

I chose to change the one I am

to learn, expand and grow.

Eons passed since first I came

I'm further from my dawn

distractions taunt my growing space

my soul at times a pawn.

The seasons change yet so do I

I've learned inside this presence

that all I have and am I owe

to one who shares my essence.

'Tis more I know than what I see

my eyes would leave me blind

if all I saw were sticks and things

the physical side of mind.

I sit in silence, scribbling notes

describing one by one

the thoughts of what and who I see

the opus left undone.

I know there's no controlling life

or natures way at large

I govern not the circumstance

I'm not the one in charge.

There is one thing that I can do

depleted of exception

I scribble, I scrawl, I edit my book

the bliss of my perception.

Each new aspect's full and bright

my life to come I'll treasure

for here I've learned of joy and love

with vibes too vast to measure.

May you always know the aspects of Peace and Love!

      Hi Linda!

I'm so happy you enjoyed it. Your appreciation is confirmation of the type of understanding necessary to live a life of and wherever hereafter is!!! We are all one, plant and animal alike. We share so much yet many of us fail to grasp the beauty and simplicity of it all!

Thank you for reading and commenting.

      I am grateful!

Ohhhhh, I love this. Each line is full of wisdom and introspection and and a beautiful acknowledgment that we are more than a physical presence in this world. Wise, wise words beautifully woven together. Voted up, awesome, and beautiful!

That's the consensus Bill. A friend of mine keeps reminding me when I'm striving for perfection not to beat myself up if I'm not satisfied because he says, (and I believe this too, come from Abraham that "we'll never get it right and we'll never get it done." How could we with all there is to do. That's why I'm so grateful for you and the other fellow hubbers who have given so much to bring awareness into the world!

Thanks Bill! You know how much I appreciate your comments!

Hi Joe and thank you so much for reading and also for your kind comments. In the spirit of the great Kahunas I am indebted to your humanity. May joy and peace be with you always! Aloha to you as well!

It's poems like these that define and underscore your pen name. Thank you very much for gracing our day with this masterpiece of metered and image-laden verse.

The opus will always be left undone, will it not my friend? We just keep adding chapters until we can't add them any longer. Beautiful work, Bruce, and thank you for linking H.O.W.

      blessings my friend,
