I commute each lifetime from home afar
away from all I know
I chose to change the one I am
to learn, expand and grow.
Eons passed since first I came
I'm further from my dawn
distractions taunt my growing space
my soul at times a pawn.
The seasons change yet so do I
I've learned inside this presence
that all I have and am I owe
to one who shares my essence.
'Tis more I know than what I see
my eyes would leave me blind
if all I saw were sticks and things
the physical side of mind.
I sit in silence, scribbling notes
describing one by one
the thoughts of what and who I see
the opus left undone.
I know there's no controlling life
or natures way at large
I govern not the circumstance
I'm not the one in charge.
There is one thing that I can do
depleted of exception
I scribble, I scrawl, I edit my book
the bliss of my perception.
Each new aspect's full and bright
my life to come I'll treasure
for here I've learned of joy and love
with vibes too vast to measure.
