One Eyed Jack
One Eyed Jack
He stares at it all but only sees half of the picture.
What he has seen he is never quite sure.
How important are the pieces that he missed?
So many even a genius couldn’t list.
He is mistaken by no fault of his own.
His chance to relate is always blown.
He does not observe the world the way you do.
He thinks he knows it all but has no clue.
I think of him with pity and grief.
You stare at him from afar with disbelief.
I wish I could help him but even I don’t see,
That this poor sad soul in none other than me.
