Bittersweet Poems: A Kiss Goodnight

Updated on June 12, 2013

When I die
Let it be another day
Cause one more smile from you
Will make it all okay.

Let me have a few more words
To ease your pain
And try my best
To plainly explain

This is how
Things should be
Cause I could never live
Without you next to me.

When I die
Let it be some other night
Cause I need a few more moments
To squeeze you tight

Caress your cheeks
And dry your eyes
To reassure you
There's a good reason why

Let our final moments
Be blessed in light
So I can have one more kiss
Before this goodnight.
