One Thing I Know Poem
One thing that I know, nothing ever stays the same
Think about it while I wonder if I’m insane
My hair is short now; I don’t need to make the sale
Don’t look too closely for pity’s sake
Air is given to those who need a little help to breathe
They’re unique but they are a growing breed
I have a tale to tell but I’ll try to keep it brief
I like cheddar, but I’ll eat brie
There is a highway that goes up to the sky
There’s the horizon but it just keeps going up
Someday I’ll join her there but I can’t go yet
A pair of coppers won’t pay the debt
One thing that I know, everything’s in constant change
Think about it; tell me how heavy are your chains
My hair is short now; I don’t really need to chafe
Don’t look too closely, we missed the chance
Don’t pull me up now, It’s still too hard to breathe
I won’t hold you down; you’re one of a dying breed
How difficult can this really be
There is a highway that goes up to the sky
There’s the horizon but it just keeps going up
Someday I’ll join her there but I can’t go yet
A pair of coppers won’t pay the debt
One thing that I know is there’s nothing left to know
Don’t think about too much there’s nothing left to note
I lost the trail somewhere out on the knoll
I missed the chance, friend, now it’s too hard to breathe
