Our Love Is One That Will Last
Mom & Dad
Last day of school
Dad and his first little baby
Sisters
Mom, birthday boy, & me
They said my eyes did sparkle
My smile shone oh so bright
“You’re in love, you pretty girl”
“You beam with so much light”.
The smile is only half of it
Not much longer, then they’ll know
The secret I’ve been dying to share?
I married my best friend a month ago!
Last day of school, I can feel it now
Graduation is right around the bend
Tell them we’re married, say goodbye
and then our life can begin.
We’ve got it planned, a perfect life
A house and maybe three little kids
A beautiful family all our own
tucked safely behind a white picket fence.
First will be a brown-haired girl
She’ll fill our life with so much glee
Ten perfect fingers, ten little toes
We’ll give her the name of Kathy.
The next bundle of joy will be early
A preemie with platinum white hair
A tiny angel, but she’ll be fine
Little Lisa with skin so fair.
Daddy will get his boy next
On his birthday, he will be born
“A chip off the old block” they will say
when Earl Jr. is delivered one August morn.
Oh, the times we’ll have, so much love
I’m glad I said yes when he asked
The road to the future will start soon
Our love is one that will last.

Our Love Is One That Will Last
Forever After
Death was the only thing that separated my parents. On February 23, 2001 my dad lost his beautiful bride. His love for her will never die.
