Out of Darkness Comes Light

I am an artist, designer, photographer and writer. See more of my work on cmariearts.

The dark corners of your mind

Hide many secrets

Some you don't want to find

At your weakest

You are numb

Not being able to feel anymore

Lying to yourself

About what is real

What is not

Being led like a pony

Showcased for all to see

Not being you

But someone else

Losing your identity

If words can only describe

The sorrow that you feel

It has a hold on you

Creeping up inside

So you try and hide

Mask what you don't want to show

Hating every minute of it

Losing control

Be true to thyself

Is all you hear in your mind

The freedom you want so bad

Is visible to the blind

Break free from the chains

That are holding you back

In the end

You will find yourself

Finding the light

Out from pitch black

..... a title to die for - and the words which follow are profound, soulful and deep as well ......you have such a beautiful mind.

Sending warm wishes and good thoughts to you and hoping all is well with you these days - lake erie time ontario canada 11:29am and listening to baroque with 2nd cup of coffee and time for a walk on my beach - today is clear, dry and sunny with no wind - a big factor at this time of year though could be high winds and snow - yikes!

i love your very individual style, my friend!

This is so powerful all by itself, to see truth, we need to stop looking with eyes and see with spirit.

I feel such pain behind these words. I am sure all have their own version of what it means to them which is what is so powerful about it. I see it as a person who is lost in a bad or violent relationship and is feeling stuck to break free. If this is non-fiction I hope you or who it's about can find the strength to leave and live life fully without chains.

Truer words were never written my friend. I learned exactly where you can find yourself when not addressing life's terrible experiences and sorrows. Thankfully a wonderful friend recognized this and I now handle life's losses in a much healthier way.

Really beautiful, Caroline. Strangely, your photo reminds me of the ultrasound womb images that pregnant women show to friends and family. Out of the darkness and into the light. Blessings, Debby
