POETRY: I'VE WALKED YOUR SHOES
It is funny when I think back
Of all the choices that I made
As I put them all together
To find myself here today
What a journey it has been
Still far from the end
I made my own family
Made a few real good friends
I met a loving partner
Who became my best friend
Two loving little angels
I'll fight for til the end
I've made some bad choices
That I am not proud of
Lost a lot of values
Hurt the ones that I love
I've cheated, stole, and lied
Been happy, mad, sad and cried
I've went running home to mom
Because in her I can confine
I have stood on mountains high
Slipped and fell into darkness below
I love my peanut butter fudge
I have problems letting go
I changed my life around
When the walls came caving down
It really is a miracle
I'm not six feet under ground
I always run to God
When I have no where to turn
I can't never trace my tracks
For all the bridges I have burned
I did my best to show everyone
I have changed my past ways
But still they always judge me
All I can do for them is pray
The dark clouds have moved on
Just look at this beautiful day
Why can't we learn to love
How can someone live for hate
I've walked your shoes my friend
Look up, I offer a hand to lend
I feel your pain and sorrow
I have, time and time again
So come stand here beside me
And let go off all this hate
The world may turn their back on you
Look up, we stand face to face
I don't care where you came from
I don't care about your past
If your weak, lean on my shoulder
Your no longer alone, I have your back
