Travelin' Night and Day - Poetry and Photography

Updated on October 23, 2012

Inspired by Ricky Nelson's "Travelin' Man"

"Travelin' Night & Day...just to be with you"

Pillow marks a heavy head upon the strike of three

Oh, Sweetheart hush, forgive me please my Dear ;

Your hair I brush gently off your cheek, don't get up for me

Your dreamy eyes I lightly kiss, I severed your sleep, I fear.

But my little Love, you're one tough, pretty brunette

Your smile twinkles in the silent, dimness of the room;

Your sexy pale lingerie shimmers your curvy silhouette

A loving Wife, you carefully packed my lunch for noon.

You inspire and keep hope aglow, I promise to you my only Love

My sweat, my strength, my angelic guide will lead me safely home to you;

Spare me Sweet your divine lips, and loving arms like wings of a dove

The mile-long roads, the hour-stretched highways are only steps away, it's true.

The fine lunch with your amusing note lasted me through the day

How lucky I am of your love and I desire you more; no, not few;

Through thick and thin the strong wheels are fast wheeling away

I am happily and tirelessly travelin' night and day...just to be with you.

More sights as we were driving through the highway and the far side of the country.

Smell of hay, burnt grass from the sun; a sight so delightful, peaceful countryside.

His truck says No Name but rolls on in fame; yellow bright and sunny, in a slow moving highway it brings a smile to many.

Painted barns and farm houses in warm red glare; I'm now in the countryside, I can tell it's in the air.

This bus is preserved, a decor so great for anyone to admire, passing and fleeting 'til the day is late.
