The Awakening.
Rapunzel, Rapunzel,
In your tower encased
The World is a bitter place
among the guards, and lower walls.
To be protected was the desire.
When behind brick, stones, and Mortar you were banished
Do not with contempt look upon thy protectors with mal-intent.
Thy banishment was done out of love.
As soon as your hair you doth uncoil, the ravishment of flesh,
spirit and emotion will henceforth commence.
Do not be deceived by piercing eyes, or a comely face.
Nor the heart which beneath an Armor beats.
He shall talk of fidelity,
and things unknown, and a fiery spirit will beckon you
to alight from behind your Tower walls.
His lips, beautifully made!
To draw attention to their fullness.
Cheekbones that squared masculine features
My dearest Rapunzel,
listen to that inner voice that tells you!
Do not falter, draw closed those heavy drapes,
Listen not to voice that heralds, to come away from behind Tower walls.
If you let down your hair of silken, or curly mass,
And the light in innocent eyes
framed by darkened lash, touches upon the first betrayal!
The world as you know it will forever be changed.
Your gaze will forever be held, and your heart forever bear
the scars of lost innocence.
when the conceit of Men and the enviety of Women
becomes more apparent.
