Pandoras Inception
Prometheus stole fire from the heavens and brought it down to earth
Zeus thought Prometheus need taught a lesson, hence, Pandora's birth
The gods schemed to create a woman to send to earth for Prometheus to receive
She would be so perfect and look so beautiful so mankind she could deceive
She was formed of clay and Venus painted on to her desire
Mercury bestowed persuasion, Apollo gifted her voice of choir
After all the gods contributed an attribute or two
Athene was last to give her gift , the gift of life she blew
She was named Pandora which means "all giving"
and with a box in hand she was sent down to the living
Arriving at Prometheus' door, he wouldn't let her in
suspecting that the box she held contained a tainted sin
Despite his brothers warning, Epimetheus welcomed her
and warned her not to unseal the box as it may cause a stir
Pandora was of curious nature and couldn't let the mysterious box sit unopened
Destruction and affliction were released and wouldn't go back in, even though she beckoned
Pandora panicked and hastened to reseal the box when she noticed something was still within
What ever it was looked too promising to be considered any sin
When Pandora saw that it was hope that was still inside
she knew she must set hope free to be mans only guide
With every ill failing that she upend on earth
Hope was the only element that provided any mirth
To give man determination when everything goes wrong
at least there still be scrap of light hitching hope along.
