And the winner is...

And the winner is…

Four little words!

Can you feel your heart racing?

Your pulse pulsing?

Sweaty palms?

Have you unfolded the little slip of paper?

Taken it out of its special place?

Or have you memorized

your five numbers plus your powerball?

Have you tried

thinking good thoughts,

dreaming big dreams,

meditating or praying

in order to make it so?

Perhaps you have tried

forgetting about it,

waiting a week or so -

To check

To peep

To hold your breath

To open your eyes

Just to see the jackpot

For once in your life

The answer to your family’s prayers

No more living from paycheck to paycheck

Nothing really more than that

Nothing grandiose

No gloating

No greed

Just pure uncontrollable enthusiasm

Shock and glee

To once in your life know

And the winner is…

"The Lottery"

If you won the lottery, would you keep it a secret?

      JPSO138,

Thanks for stopping by. I am more like you. I buy a ticket on occasion, but I know lots of folks who buy them consistently. Perhaps, they just have more faith in the odds of winning than I do. Smiles.

Wishing you luck and a great day,

      Kim

Well, everyone most likely have this dream of winning the lottery. I did buy a ticket sometimes but the dream of winning big is still very illussive. Great hub!

I know. In my family, we have a pact that if one of us wins, we will share with the rest.

      Fingers crossed,

Oh why can't I win the lottery, how many times I have said that! I keep thinking of that woman recently who won the biggest ever 500 million and she is building a house for her and her son and his lover...just can't get over it. Bet she is hanging onto the bulk of it too though she is prob 80 or close. Finally she is boss, haha. Oh well....lol ^+

      thelyricwriter,

Do you play the same numbers? I would want to help people, too.

Thanks for the votes and share. You made my day.

Keeping fingers crossed for both of us,

Kim, this truly had me pumped up. Money always makes me this way. I've dreamed of winning the PowerBall forever. There's no way that I could keep such a secret. I have a good heart and I would help a lot of people that need it. Good stuff Kim, voted up, awesome, interesting, and shared on FB.

Happy thoughts to you as well. I am also blessed. I do not have a daughter, but I have two sons (22 & 28), and I consider them by best friends, too.

I am like your daughter. If I win any amount, I get pretty excited.

By the way, you do not look old enough to have an 18 year old.

      What's your secret? Smiles.

Thanks for calling my little poem a "joyful read."

      Best,

My daughter just turned 18 and the first thing she wanted to do to celebrate her legal age was buy a lottery. She did and she won, $10!

Girl, she was ecstatic and obliviously jumping in the supermarket. What a scene. Lol! Now, imagine if this is a hundred or a thousand or even more dollars!

What a joyful read! Thank you!

      Cat,

SO happy when I sign on and see you have been by and left - as always- the best comments.

First of all, if I knew how to do it, I would have HP transfer my dollar I have made since starting here to your account. Smiles. In the meantime, stretch those dreams. : )

Yeah, I had what was I thought a pretty cool hub about fireflies. It was left up long enough for me to get several comments, and when I tried to put it in as one of my spotlight hubs, I got a message about "duplicate content." I am not really sure what I need to delete and the message said that an administrator would need to look at it. ?????

Finally, if I won the lottery, I would send you a ticket to a some exotic restful place. You know one of those places where the water is blue, the sand is white and little umbrella drinks are served.

Until then...Have a super great day with lots of sunshine and dreams!

Thank you for hitting buttons and sharing, too.

Oh yeah, another thing... lol, They say all you need is a dollar and a dream. I guess I'm in big trouble then :D Kim, can you spot me a dollar? I've got plenty of dreams... lol

      Kim,

First, I love this... but I love every word you write! Second, I tried looking for some hidden meaning and I'm not convinced there isn't one... lol, but as far as money and the lottery goes, boy oh boy! What a treat that would be. I know struggling; I suppose living in today's society or economy I should say, most of us probably do. But it's sad when you've got to decide between toilet paper and dish soap, lol and I've been there! Or, I guess you could just use dish soap for both? :D Anyway, you deserve nothing but the best and I hope you have everything that makes your heart content and if I ever won the lottery... I'd plan a trip out your way and leave a suitcase behind for ya! :D

So... I saw your name fluttering around in my email and before I went to bed, I said... OH, must go check out Kim's new one! But it's gone!!! :-( However, I wasn't satisfied going to bed without coming over and I'm glad I did, 'cause those HP turds didn't tell me about this and I think I saw another one on your profile page that I wasn't informed about either! Pfttt!

Anyway, you're a doll and I must say, I love that new pic!

      Hope all is well deary!

      Hugs,

      Cat

P.S. Do I have to mention all the buttons I pushed and the sharing too? :D

      Colin,

You are indeed a rich man for there are so many who-like me- find you, your work and your comments priceless. I can relate to all of the same issues as you except for the blood pressure. While I am thrilled to have you come my way again, I do not wish to create any additional hardship. I feel like I should be punished for acting like a spoiled little girl. ; )

Wishing you godspeed in all your travels and much luck in any lottery you may enter.

Best to you now and always,

      Kim

      Hi Kim,

Interesting write her as to winning the lottery. The only thing I have ever won in this life is a chocolate cake, in an elementary school Halloween festival. LOL But being it was chocolate, I loved it! And remember it to this day.
