Peace- A Poem
Peace.
Sometimes a city
Can make your thoughts rushed
Sometimes something little
Can seem so big
The constant noise
The constant stress
I can't escape
The people
The mess
You find out who you love
You find out who is good
And who is bad
That maybe you have fallen in love
With the guy you met last summer
Or that maybe your best friend
Doesn't care at all
Many things only become clear
When your mind is at peace.
Never before have I felt so confident
Never before have I felt so free
Never before have I felt so lost
In my own mind
Thought of the problems I left behind
Never before have I thought this way
As I left behind that troublesome day
Looking into the sun I knew for sure
Who I wanted to sit beside me.
Gaze together into the sunset
One day you will escape
And that day you will find peace
Something so simple
Let your thoughts wonder
Let your mind be free
Clear tears run down my face
As I watched the golden sun
Set behind the desert mountains.
