Peace is Near

Updated on January 3, 2013

There is a special moment in time

When silence speaks to those that listen

An important silence commanding attention

Demanding her audience to rise up

Embrace the stillness

Peace is near

So near that the earth erupts with joy

Light shimmers from glass-like reflections

Images cast upon great rivers and streams

Beg for peace to draw near

Longing for her residence

A stay that promises reconciliation

Opening her arms to the wayward traveler

A whisper escapes

It is the wind whistling

A slight brush against leaves

And silence settles upon the earth.

Thank you. It is amazing the things we can accomplish if we seek stillness.

That's very true, I wish more people had that same feeling. Good Job!

A lovely poem and I especially like the quiet stillness that the end suggests.
