Freudian Theory An Ode To Self

Updated on April 23, 2017

The Id, The Ego, Superego

They are me and me all three

The Id the Ego and the Superego

The Id tells me I am the ego tells me that I am more than I ought to be

The superego says you are you and so much more don't let them deny you yours

The Id is me it's just what I am and no more

The Ego says you are more and a score

The super Ego goes even further and tells me

I am the two but with more to ensue

Once in a while I rely on my ego

To give voice to who I hope to one Day be

Then at times the superego that tells me

Girl please you are that and so much more

You know the score

The Id, the Ego, and the superego

Has to co-exist peaceably it's human nature naturally

For when the three becomes apart the Id to introvert

The ego somewhere in between and the superego

Then becomes an all out extrovert

I wrote this in 2011, I hold n Associates degree in Psychology, but found Rehabilitation Counseling more to my liking. Had I continued with a Masters degree in Psychology I would have espoused Freud's theory.
