Penny and Pete: A Letter "P" Story
Pete the pony played and pranced in a pristine pasture placed part way between the Poconos and Padre Island.
Pete was very pretty, and proud of his pert stride as he paced himself in a run.
He wore a plaid halter of purple and pale pink. Which he was pleased to admit looked very pleasant against his palomino hide.
Pete was a very happy pony!
Pete loved to stamp his feet and paw and pitch whenever he saw Penny, his little girl, who praised his parade of pompous pranks.
Penny was known to place practical treats of carrots and apples on her palm, so Pete could partake, without pinching her fingers with his pearly teeth.
Penny loved Pete. And Pete loved Penny.
Penny paid almost pious attention to Pete's pretty mane and tail, plating them and placing flowers and feathers in rows with ribbons.
When Penny rode Pete, he was very practical, and permitted himself no distractions.
He knew Penny was a person who would experience pain if he should stumble and she should fall.
So Pete painstakingly placed each step with precision.
People who paid attention to Penny and Pete, often repeated, "Those two are a peaceful partnership!"
And it was true!
Penny and Pete were the perfect pair!
