Perfect The Way You Are (Poetry)
It’s a crying shame
You don’t know how perfect you are.
Even if I could take these two hands
Reach out into the air,
Take every ounce of beauty
And every ounce of perfection
Mold them together
Into the most perfect woman
Any man could ever imagine.
That woman wouldn’t come close
To the woman that is you.
Your smile is like a work of art
That even the most skilled painter
Who dedicated his whole life
To learning his craft
Still wouldn’t be able to achieve.
Forgive me if I raise my voice
I just can’t stand here
And watch you
Sit in from of that mirror anymore.
How could you think
That there is even one detail
That is out of place
On that face
I dream about every night.
My world would be
A darker place
If I could not wake up
Every morning
And see and angel by my side
So put down that lipstick
Move away from that mascara
Don’t waste another minute
Looking for imperfection
In God’s perfection.
You are perfect
Just the way you are.
