You Don't Have To Be Misunderstood To Understand Picture of Me
Introspective Poetry
Picture of me
By the tree
For the world to see
Some take note with pillory,
Other’s cachinnating without chivalry.
An infrequent number stand and gawk
With complaisance
For the growing crowd’s tolerance.
Few weave in and around,
Offering magnanimity,
Prating about amongst them.
Most acknowledge
Picture of me
By the Tree
For the world to see
With tenuousness and immateriality.
The rains and storms undulate,
But a loyal strand wrap around
Picture of me
By the tree
For the world to see
With countenance
And loyalty.
Mildewed by the elements,
Separated pieces scatter down below
The rolling hills and valleys flow
Like floating moths softly drifting
Pieces gathering by the briny deep
Picture of me
By the sea
For the world to see.
The lingering snippets
Are concatenated together
As I contemn
The raggedy residuum.
No longer have I recognized
Picture of me
By the tree
For the world to see.
