Plagiarism: A Poem

Why did you steal my words

Sharing my thoughts as your own

A despicable thing to do

I'd like to beat you with my phone!

Why did you steal my words

Telling all that you wrote them

You're a low-life in my eyes

You should be torn limb from limb!

Why did you steal my words?

Taking credit for my work

No creativity in your empty head

Your broken kneecaps, an added perk!

Why did you steal my words?

A poem for my mother, not you!

Yours will probably be so sad

When you come home black and blue!

Why did you steal my words?

You may think you got away with it

I'll hunt you down and you will pay

In my shark tank you will fit!

Why did you steal my words?

There's an angry mob after you

Take heed and hide you scum

That's what a coward would do!

fpherj48, "especially monkeys"...haha! I know, it just makes you want to punch someone, but you can't find their face! I've run the gamut of emotions since this whole thing began, but I keep having hope that everything will turn out just fine. Delusional? Maybe, but I can't stay down. That'll just make me write more poetry that they will steal! =P Thanks for the comment!

Levertis Steele, that's true! They have been petting those sharks! I had to let some of my anger go and just focus on writing. I knew going into this that my work could/would be stolen one day. From this poem on, I'll just have to protect myself better. It doesn't make it right, but I can't stop doing what I love to do. They win with thinking like that. Plus, I believe Karma will get 'em in the end! Thanks for the comment!

Rolly A Chabot, thanks for the comment! It is definitely infuriating but this poem did let me release a bit of that anger! I have hope we'll get 'em shut down eventually! Until then, I'll keep writing.

justateacher, thank you for the comment and votes! At the very least, I am thankful that they did keep your name with those photos. That's very personal stuff!

Becky Katz, I didn't mean to suggest that they only stole 'a' poem. I know they took a whole lot more than that! Even articles that are HubPages tutorials were plagiarized and that doesn't even make sense! =P

EclecticFusion. Took the words right out of my mouth. What a bunch of creeps and theives!! It is such a low and loathesome thing to do!!

How empty-headed and lazy can one be to stoop to stealing some one else's work? Yeah, they can be REALLY proud of themselves. ANYONE can copy....especially monkeys!!

Put them in the shark tank! Those thieves have been feeding and petting the sharks. More sophistication is needed . . . . and I have no idea what should be done. Writers are at great risk when they publish their more creative works. I have a book of poetry, but I have only published articles. The internet is a haven for thieves and many other crooks.

Great poem! Also, your alarm will help many unsuspecting writers.

Hi EF... add yet another to the mob... they have several of mine and it just infuriates me for the little recourse we have. Legally yes we have some rights but to think they are making a profit off things like a poem you intended for your Mom is so wrong... wait till the time is right to feed the sharks... it is coming.

Way to go Eclectic Fusion. You tell 'em and we'll be right behind you with the pitchforks. Mine are there too and interestingly enough the one's which have pics from Riga I bet they don't even know what they're looking at.

So far I have had three of mine stolen - one of my hubs was about my grandson and had his pictures on it...since they don't change anything when they steal our stuff, at least the pictures still had my name attached to them. I am going to try the website you listed.

Great poem - voted up and across...

They stole a whole lot more than 'a' poem. Half of HubPages stuff that was published last month is on there.

Michele, I know! I have no idea why someone would steal a poem unless they're going to make a song from it or something. I'm glad I don't know what makes a thief tick!

ElecticFusion someone actually stole a poem? That is horrible! I am sorry they did that. I have read a lot of poems here, but it is crazy ( well I think it is ) to steal one. Why can't someone just write their own?

tnderhrt23, yes you can help! The more the merrier!

I have filed one complaint, but so far, I've found two that have been stolen. This is all new to me, so I'm kind of learning as I go along! I did sign up for MyFreeCopyright.com and this poem is the first one I protected. Seems like a pretty good site.

      Thanks for the comment!

I don't know whether to laugh or cry! I don't know how many of mine are being plundered but if it just one it is an invasion of privacy and is despicable. Great poem my dear and if you catch one call me; I'll help you put them in the shark tank.
