Poem About Digestion: A Mushroom's Magical Journey
I'm but a simple mushroom
Sat upon a plate
Beside me sits a carrot
I can do nought but wait
I see the fork move downward
It sticks me in the head
As I'm popped in a dark, dark hole
I think "I must be dead"
But then the teeth start chewing
They crush me, squash me flat
And soon I'm sliding downward
Into a nasty vat
It's pooled with other mushrooms
My brothers, sisters too
And on the walls beside us
Squirts nasty, burning goo
I'm melting. I've gone sloppy
I swish and swirl about
And once more I'm pulled downward
I think the plug's pulled out
The further down I travel
The more I change my form
The liquid has all left me
I'm soft and brown and warm
I see a light beneath me
I plunge and make the dash
I'm free, I'm out the body!
I'm landing with a splash...
